Objectives
As the leading proponent of a market-based approach to clean air at America's ports, we will work collaboratively with local policymakers and communities to develop innovative solutions that reduce port truck pollution while maintaining flow of commerce.
CRT members are committed to driving significant and permanent improvements in air quality at and around our nation's ports. Our mission is to be responsible stewards of the environment by facilitating the implementation of practical and responsible solutions that reduce truck pollution without disrupting the flow of commerce.
CRT's Five Goals:

Develop a pro-active compliance attitude regarding the development and administration of environmental emission regulations.
CRT and its members continually strive to create and implement sustainable business prectices that minimize diesel emissions from port activities. Through the CRT Clean Trucks Initiative, our members are investing millions of dollars in support of clean truck deployment at ports across the country. -
Partner with ports across the country in support of clean air programs
CRT and its members are committed to working pro-actively with our nation's ports to develop and support clean truck programs that meet local and regional air quality goals in an efficient and cost effective manner. CRT is dedicated to developing industry-supported clean truck programs that are both environmentally and economically sustainable. -
Demonstrate our commitment to the environment and the communities we serve
CRT is committed to increasing the visibility and enhancing the profile of the Coalition and each of our members by publicizing the environmental initiatives and accomplishments of our member companies to local, state and federal decision makers, the media and the public. -
Facilitate the inclusion of industry perspective in legislative and regulatory activities
CRT represents our members in the important policy discussions taking place that will impact maritime commerce, whether they be at our nation's ports or at our nation's Capitol. CRT prides itself on engaging in a collaborative dialog with policymakers that facilitates the inclusion of industry perspective into port-related legislative and regulatory processes. CRT also provieds a forum for our members to stay up to date on the legislative and regulatory activities taking place across the country. -
Continue to build upon the collective strength of the Coalition
We invite shippers, trucking companies and carriers to join the Coalition for Responsible Transportation and make a positive impact on our local communities by developing and implementing positive environmental initiatives at the nation’s blue-water ports.
